Medication Discount Card

The Iowa Prescription Drug Corporation (IPDC), an Iowa-based, not-for-profti organization launced a medication discount card targeting patients seen in rural health clinics who are uninsured or underinsured preventing access to the medications then need. This program was developed in conjuntion with the Iowa Collabrative Safety Net Provider Network and the Iowa Rural Health Clinics Association.

Cards were sent to clinics during the month of May and can be handed out at teh clinics to individuals that need assistance with the purchase of their medications. Our new card, the IPDC Medication Discount Card, is also administered by MemberHealth, LLC and will provide patients a discount on most medications with the highest patient savings being realized on generic medications.

Listings of commonly prescribed medications that can be prescribed for under $16 in alphabetical order and by disease state can be downloaded here. Medications must be be prescribed adn dispensed in the listed medication, strength and quantity in order to receive the listed pricing.

One card may be utilized for a whole family. There is no fee to patients for this card and no age or income requirements.

IPDC has worked diligently to ensure the maximum discount for patients while ensuring that the community pharmacies are receiving a competitive dispensing fee. The administrative fee charged by this program is small and will be handled identically to the current Criterion Card.
